Bookmarks in Google Chrome save a link to a website you want to return to later, much like when you put a bookmark in a book. Here are several ways you can create, view, and edit your Bookmarks.
Let Chrome remember your favorite and frequently visited websites.
When you sync to Chrome, you’ll get your bookmarks, passwords, and more on all your devices.
On Computer Add a bookmarks in Chrome
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Go to the site you want to visit again in the future.
- To the right of the address bar, click Star
.
Find a bookmark
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks.
- Find and click a bookmark.
Tip: You can open bookmarks faster with the bookmarks bar. You’ll find your bookmarks under the address bar. Click a bookmark to open it.
To turn the bookmarks bar on or off, click More Bookmarks Show Bookmarks Bar.
Edit a bookmark
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- To the right of a bookmark, click the Down arrow
Edit.
Delete a bookmark
Important: After you delete a bookmark, you can’t get it back.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- To the right of a bookmark, click the Down arrow
Delete.
Organize your bookmarks
Move your bookmarks into a folder
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- Drag a bookmark up or down, or drag a bookmark into a folder on the left. You can also copy and paste your bookmarks in the order you want.
If you use the bookmarks bar, you can drag your bookmarks into the order you want.
Put your bookmarks in folders
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- At the top right, click More
Add new folder.
If you use the bookmarks bar, you can add a folder by right-clicking the bookmarks bar. Click Add Folder.
Alphabetize your bookmarks
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- At the top right, click More
Sort by name.
Find a lost bookmark
Deleted bookmarks can’t be recovered. If your bookmark is missing for another reason, try the tips below.
Step 1: Sign in to Chrome
If you synced your bookmarks to your Google Account, make sure you’re signed in to Chrome:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- In the top right, click the name or People
.
- Click Sign in to Chrome.
- Sign in with your Google Account where you saved the bookmark.
Step 2: Show the bookmarks bar
If you usually use the bookmarks bar, make sure it isn’t hidden:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Show Bookmarks Bar.
Step 3: Check your bookmark folders
New bookmarks are saved to the last bookmark folder where you saved a bookmark. Check all your bookmark folders:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Bookmarks Bookmark Manager.
- On the left, open each folder and look for your bookmark.
On Android Add a bookmark
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
.
- Go to a site you want to visit again in the future.
- To the right of the address bar, tap More

Open a bookmark
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
.
- At the top right, tap More
Bookmarks.
- If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap Star
.
- If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap Star
- Find and tap a bookmark.
Edit a bookmark
To the right of a bookmark, tap More
Edit.
Delete a bookmark
Important: After you delete a bookmark, you can’t get it back.
To the right of a bookmark, tap More
Delete.
Move a bookmark to a different folder
- To the right of a bookmark, tap More
Move.
- Tap the folder where you want the bookmark.
Rearrange your bookmarks
- On your Android device, open the Chrome app
.
- At the top right, tap More
Bookmarks.
- Touch and hold the bookmark that you want to move.
- Drag the bookmark up or down.
Create a folder
- On your Android device, open the Chrome app
.
- At the top right, tap More
Bookmarks.
- Tap the bookmark you want to move into a new folder.
- Tap More
Move

Find a lost bookmark
Deleted bookmarks can’t be recovered. If your bookmark is missing for another reason, try the tips below.

New bookmarks are saved to the “Mobile Bookmarks” folder. To check all your bookmark folders:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
.
- At the top right, tap More
Bookmarks.
- If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap Star
.
- If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap Star
- If you’re in a folder, at the top left, tap Back
.
- Open each folder and look for your bookmark.
On iPhone & iPad Add a bookmark
- Open the Chrome app
.
- Go to a site you want to visit again in the future.
- Tap More
Bookmark
.
Open a bookmark
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app
.
- Tap More
Bookmarks
.
- Find and tap a bookmark.
- To open in a new tab or Incognito tab, touch and hold the bookmark.
If you can’t find the bookmark you want, it might be in a different folder. To change folders, at the top left, tap Back . Tap the folder with the bookmark you want.
Edit a bookmark
- Touch and hold a bookmark.
- Tap Edit Bookmark.
- Change the name, folder, or URL.
- At the top, tap Done.
Delete a bookmark
After you delete a bookmark, you can’t get it back.
- To delete one bookmark, swipe left, and then tap Delete.
- To delete two or more bookmarks, at the bottom, tap Select. Tap the bookmarks you want to delete

Create a folder
- Open the Chrome app

- Tap More

Select a folder.
- In the bottom left corner, select New Folder.

- To the right of a bookmark, touch and hold Drag

- Drag the bookmark where you want it.
Move a bookmark to a different folder
- Touch and hold a bookmark. Tap Edit Bookmark.
- Next to “Folder,” tap Choose Folder

- Tap the folder where you want the bookmark.
To move two or more bookmarks:
- At the bottom, tap Select.
- Select the bookmarks.
- At the bottom, tap More
Move.
- Tap the folder where you want the bookmarks.
