Follow these steps to successfully pair your Bluetooth-enabled phone with your 2006 BMW 3 Series that has a CD radio and the Premium Package:
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Enable Bluetooth on Your Phone
- Open the Bluetooth settings on your cell phone and ensure Bluetooth is turned on. Make your phone “discoverable.”
- Insert the Comfort Access Remote Control
- Place the remote control into the ignition slot but do not press the Start/Stop button.
- Power on the Radio
- Press the knob on the left side of the radio to turn it on.
- Access the MENU
- Press the MENU button on the radio.
- Navigate to the PHONE Option
- Use the knob on the right side of the radio to scroll and select PHONE by pressing the knob.
- Select PAIR
- Scroll down to the bottom of the PHONE menu using the same knob and select PAIR by pressing it.
- Find Your BMW on Your Phone
- In your phone’s Bluetooth menu, look for a device named “BMW,” followed by the last eight characters of your BMW’s VIN. Select it.
- Enter a Passcode on Your Phone
- When prompted, create and enter a passcode of your choice (1-16 digits). This code should be easy to remember.
- Confirm the Passcode on the Radio
- On the BMW CD radio, use the soft keys to enter the same passcode and press the soft key labeled CONFIRM.
- Pairing Complete
- Your phone is now paired with your BMW.
- Remove the Comfort Access Remote
- Take the remote control out of the ignition slot.
Tips
- If the pairing process doesn’t work, ensure your phone and the car’s system are both compatible.
- The default passcode for many devices is 1234 or 0000, but creating a unique code is recommended.
