Passing Announced by Fellow Musician
The news of Shari Martin’s death was announced by his fellow musician, Douglas Jiveti, on August 6 through his social media account. Jiveti expressed his sorrow, stating, “Pioneer Gospel musician Shari Martin has sadly passed on. Very gifted musician: Creative composer, strong lyrics, wonderful voice. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
Shari’s passing was also confirmed by his close friend and fellow artist, Pauline, who shared insights into his recent health struggles.
Battle with Illness
According to Pauline, Shari Martin fell ill on July 27, 2024, and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. Despite initially showing signs of recovery and being slated for discharge, Martin developed breathing difficulties and unfortunately passed away on August 2, 2024.
Pauline revealed, “Martin was recovering well and was supposed to be discharged. But he developed breathing difficulties. Unfortunately, he did not make it and passed away on August 2, 2024. We later learned that he had been battling the condition for a while and had not sought any medical attention until it became severe.”
