Sugar Trailer: In Apple’s suspenseful series, Colin Farrell plays a mysterious private investigator in Los Angeles

Colin Farrell is taking on the role of a private investigator in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Sugar. He has previously portrayed a rejected buddy, a brave diver, and a chief of a Gotham criminal organization. The show centers on the abduction of a prominent movie producer’s granddaughter in Los Angeles. Watch the thrilling teaser below:

Sugar is obviously not your typical private eye—she gets sucked into the action and does much more than just take images from a distance. The beginning of the film has a noir-ish vibe thanks to Sugar’s commentary, but the pictures are washed out in the California light. However, as the story develops and more secrets are revealed, this will undoubtedly give way to a darker underbelly. Along with his role as executive producer, Farrell is joined in the cast by James Cromwell from Succession, who plays producer Jonathan Siegel, the guy who recruits Sugar; other cast members include Amy Ryan from The Office and Beau Is Afraid; and Kirby, who plays The Sandman.

We’re eager to see Farrell back in action mode since this seems like a sleek, fashionable criminal thriller to get our teeth into. Does anyone know how he drinks tea?

On April 5, Sugar’s first two episodes will be available on Apple TV+.
